Time: 06:20
I had a hard time waking up this morning. It would have been great to have coffee right away, but it’s not time for that yet. After my morning medication, I’m not allowed to drink coffee for two hours. Unfortunately, I don’t know how I’ll fully wake up during that time.
There was a flash fiction workshop meeting last night. The workshop itself was actually good, but I think I was very tired, so I couldn’t stay until the end. I went to bed at around 10:30. However, I woke up at about 1:30 in the night and couldn’t fall back asleep for a long time. I really hate waking up in the middle of the night.
This morning, I feel like sitting by the sea. I wish I could hold my coffee, breathe in the scent of the ocean, and listen to the sound of the waves. Of course, I’m grateful for the life I have, but still, a person longs for other things—living in different places, seeing new places. Human desires never really end. Maybe one day this dream of mine will come true. God is great.
For Sunday breakfast, I’m going to make baked potatoes and sauté boiled eggs in butter. It’s our classic Sunday breakfast. Sometimes I just make boiled eggs. While eating, the show Castle, which we’re currently watching and don’t want to end, will accompany us. I’m actually looking for more shows like this. Crime series and movies really interest me. I also enjoy romantic comedies, but crime stories hold a special place for me.
Today, I want to finish my book. I couldn’t read as much as I wanted last night. I’d love to sit on the balcony cushions and read. Hopefully, I’ll finish it today and move on to other books.
For dinner, we’re having sea bass. I’ll also have fish soup. The rest of the household probably won’t be very happy about this. They’ll eat it with a little leftover noodles. If they don’t want it, they can just fry an egg—I mean, what else can I do? Deciding what to cook every day is driving me crazy, and I’m sure many homemakers feel the same way. I cook vegetables, and they don’t eat those either. They’d be perfectly happy if it were potatoes, meatballs, dumplings, and pasta every single day—but that’s not a healthy way to eat.
No dancing today. It’s a rest day for my body. Muscles need time to recover. Maybe we’ll go for a walk after breakfast, but I doubt it. The weather is very cold, and it doesn’t make you want to go outside.
Early this morning, I started the washing machine. Housework never really ends. Every day there’s something new—cooking, dishes, laundry, tidying up—and before you know it, the day is over. The things you actually want to do keep getting interrupted. Yesterday, someone I follow (who also shares dance videos) posted something like, “The house may be messy, but you still have to dance.” And she’s right. I sent her a message saying I support her—that housework never really ends, life is short, and she should live the way she wants. Getting support made her really happy. After all, no matter how much we do, the work is never finished.
My older sister-in-law organized a 90s-themed party yesterday. You’d think she was a professional event planner making a lot of money. But we know she doesn’t earn anything from it and actually spends more out of pocket. Still, the way she talks about it, you’d think she’s making stacks of cash. May God give her wisdom. She couldn’t get enough of sharing posts about it.
My younger sister-in-law and I noticed something though—she never invites us to these kinds of events. How rude is that? I mean, we would pay anyway—wouldn’t a person at least invite us? It’s really quite disrespectful. But we know her issue. She wouldn’t be able to act as freely if we were there. She creates such an image around herself that the truth might come out. I almost feel sorry for her. She’s constantly on edge, afraid her real personality will be exposed. There’s a saying: “Always tell the truth so you don’t have to remember what you said.” I think that fits her perfectly.
